The nomination day for the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake elections will be held Saturday May 26th at the Kahnawake Services Complex from 9am until noon. Candidates are required to be at least 21 years of age and a member of the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry, among other requirements. Electoral officer Angus Montour announced his assistant is Muriel White Rice. The elections will be held Saturday July 7th at Karonhianónhnha school, and the polls will be open from 9am until 6pm. Montour says there will be a special poll made available for those who cannot cast their votes in person.
