The Kahnawake Education Center received nearly a $35,000 grant from the National Indian Brotherhood Trust Fund. The fund supports education programs aimed at healing, reconciliation and knowledge building to address the long-lasting impacts of the Indian residential school system. KEC’s Director of Education, Robin Delaronde, said the money will go towards establishing cultural foundations within Kahnawake’s education system through the development of a comprehensive Kanien’kehá:ka based curriculum.
