Shotera Rice of Kahnawake has pleaded guilty to impaired driving according to a report in the Eastern Door. Rice crashed and rolled his car on the old Malone Highway on September 29, 2013. He’s back in court January 24, 2018 for sentencing. He resigned from the board of the Kahnawake Youth Forum a short time later. However, according to the report he remains a spokesperson for the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Youth Network. Since then Rice has been charged twice more with impaired driving in separate incidents and plead guilty to one. He resigned as Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Kahnawake Youth Center a year ago.
